Bond 308 is a unique drive pedal featuring original LM308 opamp inside. The main circuit is inspired by the well-known “Rat”, taking all the best from the original and bringing its competence to the whole next level. The switch inside the enclosure offers two options for drive clipping. The first one is the original “Rat” 1n914 silicone diodes. These are really good for sharper, heavier gain tones with more compression. The second option is a matched pair of red LED diodes. Deep and dynamic, this clipping enhances volume and headroom. LEDs provide about twice as high forward voltage as the original silicon diodes, and they respond to the input signal in a manner somehow similar to tubes.

The next significant thing is the Vox control, which changes the voicing and grain texture of the drive. It adds a whole new dimension to the capabilities of the 308. That’s why the pedal can enter tonal territory of Clone-like boost, overdrive and even thick fuzz tones. The Vox control works differently depending on Distortion level and selected clipping option.
